Washington: HB 2097 – Addressing Statewide Wolf Recovery

WOLF BILL HB 2097 – Addressing statewide wolf recovery to be heard in the House Rural Development, Agriculture, &
Natural Resources Committee, February 22, 10:00 AM in the John L O’Brien Building, House Hearing Room B.

There will be a Public Hearing prior to the Executive Session, where it is the last item to be discussed.

The conservation community objects to the language for delisting of wolf populations in Eastern Washington before all three recovery zones are recovered with a sustainable number of breeding pairs per zone as stated in the State’s “Wolf Conservation and Management Plan” (2011).

We have been told that this language is going to be removed.

Send in comments, call your representative, or show up in person tomorrow to testify in support of removing this language from the bill before it passes committee.

Also consider commenting in support of a statewide grant program for outreach education funding for wolves.
